CHILLTEC REFRIGERATION LTD
Companies House no. NI052180 · Incorporated 23 October 2004
Data confirmed August 2026
Chilltec is one of the larger industrial refrigeration outfits in Ireland, run from Ballymena and working the heavy end of the trade: ammonia and CO2 plant, cold storage, heat pumps and heat recovery, with SCADA controls and refrigerant leak detection to match. The clients are food processing and packaging plants, distribution centres and warehouses rather than corner shops, and the firm puts more than thirty years behind it, by its own account, along with corporate sponsorship of the Institute of Refrigeration Ireland. A round-the-clock breakdown service is a real part of the offer; the site promises 24/7/365 attendance and same-day response on urgent failures, which matters when a cold store is losing temperature. The reviews are mixed. One customer praised Chris and the team for a quick, honest quote and a first-class install; a couple of others were unhappy, one over a job the firm pulled out of. Chilltec holds ISO accreditation for its quality management systems, though no registration number is published. Chilltec is a Ballymena-based industrial refrigeration and HVAC engineer covering Northern Ireland, working mainly for food production and cold storage sites.

Absolute first class service from Chris and the team at Chilltec. I found getting quotes for residential aircon quite difficult and hard to know who to use. But right from the initial enquiry I got a quick response and they were straight out to explain the options and provide a quote. They offered up solutions to suit my needs and not just the dearest or easiest option for them. Very easy to deal with and extremely accommodating with my personal time constraints and last minute install date changes. I’m extremely fussy with how things are done but honesty the work completed was first class

Promised to do a job and then pulled out at the last minute. Trevor, who I believe is the owner of the business, stated they no longer needed the work. Extremely unprofessional.

Ignorant van drivers. In and out of traffic, no indicators, cutting people up and then give off to other road users.

A great team of professional engineers with a forward thinking mind set.
