Few refrigeration firms can point to a start date in the 1960s, and Capital Refrigeration Services is one of them. It has run from an industrial base in Hoddesdon since 1967, and that longevity is its plainest credential. More than half a century in one trade leaves a company with very few surprises left.
The remit is unusually broad for a refrigeration specialist. Cellar cooling for a pub and cold display for a deli counter both fall to its engineers. So do walk-in freezers, ice machines and bespoke serve-over counters. Less commonly, the same firm looks after the combi ovens and extraction at the back of the kitchen. Its people install, service and repair all of it. That breadth spares an operator from lining up separate contractors for the cold side, the display cabinets and the cooking line.

A local delicatessen calls Capital part of its ongoing support team, there for refurbishments and new development rather than only the day a compressor quits. One customer had a serve-over counter designed and installed, then serviced for years afterwards, with a later problem put right at the firm’s own expense. A cold room that fails overnight cannot wait for the next routine slot, so the firm keeps an emergency service for breakdowns. That matters most in demanding settings such as hospital catering. There, equipment runs around the clock, and a warm cabinet is a real and immediate problem.

I bought and had installed a serve over counter from this company. Jonathan helped design and install the counters . The company and its staff have been nothing but professional and courteous . I would not only use them again I would highly recommend them. I’m very happy with the counters and the whole experience and when there was a problem ( not the company’s fault ) it was fixed at there expense. Can’t be beaten on professionalism and quality of workmanship

I have used Capital Refrigeration on a number of occasions now, once for a new install of cellar cooling equipment, once for new cold display equipment and once for a new kitchen extraction system. Didnt even want our business or want to repair the fridge we have would not reccomend! Edit you did not attend site you didnt even want to come and repair the fridge your staff on the phone was unhelpful and we didnt ask for drawing or need them, I think you are talking about another customer.
